Timber Frame Design & Engineering by Mercers

Mercers Timber Frame Consultancy offer a design and engineering service to timber frame companies, self builders and developers across the South East and across the UK. We’re proud to have an incredible reputation for the precision of our design and engineering work, with experience in traditional timber frame, I-joist houses, oak structures and complex disproportionate collapse. With over one thousand projects under our belt, we’ve vast experience in all kinds of structures and bring that knowledge to benefit your build.

We translate architectural drawings to 3D models of your structure, creating an accurate design which can be sent to be manufactured and delivered as a flat pack. What this means for you is a smoother process, a timber frame that works first time without expensive delays or errors, and less wasted timber – resulting in a less expensive frame.

Whilst it’s the architects’ job to design a building and an engineers’ job to ensure it’s structurally sound, we make it our job to consider all of these elements together – along with the practicalities of logistics, availability of timber and so on – to design a timber frame which can be manufactured perfectly and precisely.

We thrive because we’re all in at the beginning, analysing all of the information and coming up with solutions to potential issues before they become one. You’ll have a dedicated single point of contact throughout your project, and we’ll work alongside your sub contractors, assisting them and using all of our knowledge at the front end of the process to ensure it runs smoothly.

Using the latest Consultec design software, we create everything you would expect for a timber frame, along with cutting lists, panel elevations, material lists and a variety of automated output files to give you the precision and thorough consideration that your project deserves.
